Ammonium Persulfate for molecular biology

ChemiPURE Ammonium persulfate (APS) is a strong oxidizing agent widely used as a free radical initiator in polymerization reactions, particularly in polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). In the presence of TEMED, APS decomposes to generate free radicals that initiate the polymerization of acrylamide and bis-acrylamide, enabling rapid and uniform gel formation. Due to its high reactivity and reliability, APS is an essential component in SDS-PAGE and native PAGE applications, ensuring consistent gel quality and reproducible electrophoretic performance.
